testing the elementsTESTING THE ELEMENTS: “Shark Tank” meets “Man vs. Wild” in this wacky new reality competition show, where inventors test their outdooring and weather-related products in extreme conditions. Each weekly episode introduces a new inventor and a new product—a weather-resistant cosmetic line; beach chair with attached umbrella; rain coat that turns raindrops into drinking water; or firepit guard to shield campfires from wind and rain—and then we put them to the test in the wilderness and simulated extreme conditions. Just how well does that makeup hold up during a tropical storm on a sailboat? How effectively does the beach chair umbrella protect the testers in the middle of the Arizona desert? Is the water from the smart rain coat actually drinkable when tested in our lab? Does the firepit shield protect the flame even in a 75mph simulated wind tunnel At the end of the show, the inventor must face a panel of judges comprised of meteorologists, extreme outdoorspeople, and outdooring company executives to see if their product has what it takes. If they pass the test, the judges offer them a strategic investment in their area of expertise to produce their product, as well as airtime on a national shopping network to sell it. We push these inventions to the limit to see if they, and their inventors, have what it takes for TESTING THE ELEMENTS.
